About the portrait

About the  portrait of me that is used in the masthead of this site… I was asked to pose at a portrait class at Gallery 53 in Connecticut and one of the artists there, Carol Reeves, now somewhat notoriously produced this painting in one 2-hour sitting.  (Notorious because Carol makes everything look so easy, which is, of course, what gifted people do.) My Dear Friends and Readers, LauraVanWormer.com was one of the first author websites and at long last we are completely rebuilding the site to better include you in a more lively interaction.
