About the  portrait of me that is used in the masthead of this site… I was asked to pose at a portrait class at Gallery 53 in Connecticut and one of the artists there, Carol Reeves, now somewhat notoriously produced this painting in one 2-hour sitting.  (Notorious because Carol makes everything look so easy, which is, of course, what gifted people do.)
